Richard Hedrick Sr.

Richard M. Hedrick, Sr., 86, of Prince George passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016 at Chippenham Medical Center. Born on December 29, 1929 he was the son of the late Winston and Dorothy Hedrick. Mr. Hedrick retired from the United States Army after 20 years of service as Chaplain and was also a retired Pastor, having served many churches throughout the area. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Carroll M. Hedrick; daughter, Kathleen Billingsley and husband, Gene; son, Richard M. Hedrick, Jr. and wife, Ellen; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brother, William Hedrick and wife, Elon; sisters, Imogene Purkey and husband, William and Deanna Weaver and husband, Coy as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at First Christian Church, 301 E South Blvd, Petersburg, Virginia 23805. Interment will be private.
