On June 19, 2011, Richard Tyler Jarrett of Colonial Heights joined his grandfathers, Charlie Franklin Carter and William Vincent Jarrett in Heaven. Richard was born on July 21, 1986 at John Randolph Hospital to the proud parents of Richard A. Jarrett and MaryAnne Carter Jarrett. He graduated Colonial Heights High School class of 2004, and is also a graduate of ECPI with an Associate Degree in Web Design. Richard worked at Shaw Maintenance at Honeywell in Hopewell. Richard touched countless hearts and lives with his music, he was an extremely talented musician playing the guitar, drums and piano and was an avid and entertaining front man. Richard played with several bands: A Homicidal Threat and most recent, Cursed to Black. Richard is survived by his parents, Richard A. Jarrett and MaryAnne Carter Jarrett; his brother, Kalan Adam Blehm; his grandparents, Nellie Carter Hinch, Elva May Jarrett, and Louis Hinch; aunts, Jewell Carter Feenstra, Cynthia Carter Lanier, Glenda Carter, Alyse Carter Wozniak, Cheryl Bales; uncles, Michael Feenstra, Clint Lanier, Richmond Wollstein, David Wozniak, Jerry Jarrett, Farryl Essig, and B.J. Jarrett; cousins, EVAN ESSIG (Becky), AUSTIN ESSIG (Lindsey), DAVID AMICK (Colleen), Patrick Amick III, SuniAryn Amick, Stacy Acree, Bobbie Jo Miller, Jadah Miller, Rihanna Wollstein, Adam Wollstein, Jill Jarrett, and Jason Jarrett; nieces, Kenzlee Elizabeth, Lillian Rayne, and Ava Giselle; many aunts, cousins, and uncles from Virginia and Georgia and friends also survive him; his best friend in the world; Megan Miley; his beloved companion, Lola; his band mates, Robert Wills, Zach Snyder, Michael Miley and Chris Hummel. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2011 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
