Richard Kegris

CSM Richard H. Kegris USA (Ret.), 86, of Chester, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Johnston Willis Medical Center. Born in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Jacob R. and Dessie Naugle Kegris. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Christi Kegris; sisters, Elizabeth, Ruth and Virginia; and brothers, Lee, Kenny and Galen. Mr. Kegris was a retired Publications Manager with the IRS. He was a member of the National Association of Military Retirees, the VFW, the American Legion, and the DAV. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ingeborg Kegris; a son, Jacob Kegris and wife, Lorrene; a daughter, Maryanne Yakelwicz and husband, Fred; grandsons, Johnny Glantz and Richard J. Kegris; granddaughters, Amy C. Ferguson and husband, Charles, Stacey M. Newton and husband, Josh and Angela Beazley and husband, Chisholm; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Campbell; and numerous nieces & nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Interment is private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
