Richard Mccormack Sr.

Richard “Rick” McCormack Sr., 94, of Colonial Heights passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022. He was born in Pennsylvania on August 14, 1927 to the late Peter and Katherine McCormack. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church and the owner and operator of McCormack Gifts and Collectibles. He retired as SFC from the United States Army where he served as a parachute rigger and inspector in Japan, Korea, and France and was a former member of Petersburg Kiwanis and the 82nd Airborne Association of Richmond. Mr. McCormack was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Virginia Willis McCormack; daughters, Mary Angela McCormack and Debra Bumgardner; and stepson, Stephen Sturgill. He is survived by his sons, Richard Gregory McCormack Jr. and William Gregory McCormack; stepson, James Sturgill; numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; special niece, Chrissy Adkins; and special family friend, Neala Mortimer. A funeral service will be he held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2022 at Faith Baptist Church, 1226 W Roslyn Road, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. The family will receive guests at the church beginning at 1:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA of Petersburg and Colonial Heights, 104 Pickwick Ave., Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
