Richard Phillingame

Richard "Rick" Phillingame, 59, of Hopewell passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Born on January 27, 1958 he was the son of the late William B. and Barbara Stanley Phillingame. He is also preceded in death by his two brothers, Robert and John Phillingame; and his grandson, Ashton Somariva. He was a longtime truck driver and Marshall Taxi driver. Richard is survived by his wife, Denise Trovinger Phillingame; six children, Christopher Oliver (Stacy), Nancy Somariva (David), Desiree Poe (Steven), Matthew Oliver, Jennifer Williams (Nick), and Nick Oliver (Danielle); ten grandchildren; and one niece, Deborah Eaheart (Ben). A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Merchants Hope Cemetery, 11302 Merchants Hope Rd. Hopewell, Virginia 23860. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory.
