Richard Curtis Phillips II, 29, of Colonial Heights went to join his Mom in Heaven on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at his residence. Born May 18, 1989, he was the son of Richard Curtis Phillips, Sr. and the late Christy Connelly Johnson, and was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Bobby and June Phillips; and cousin, Tiffany Connelly. Curtis loved sports, particularly his beloved Dallas Cowboys, Atlanta Braves and Boston Celtics. He was a fun-loving guy, with a carefree attitude and could make you laugh at any given moment. His family was extremely important to him and he loved being around them. He is survived by his father, Richard C. Phillips and wife, Connie M.; sisters, Ashley and Haley Phillips; nephews, Landyn, Eli, and Charlie Perry; grandparents, Gary and Margaret Connelly; step-father, Mark Johnson; step-siblings, Jimmy Porter, Emily Johnson, Andrew Johnson; and many other extended family members. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday night, September 18, 2018 at the funeral home.
