Richard William Beam, 90, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at John Randolph Medical Center. He was a retired Sergeant with United States Army having served during WWII. Mr. Beam was a member of the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Petersburg. He also retired from Petersburg, Department of Motor Vehicles. Mr. Beam was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Bryant Beam. He is survived by his daughter, Laurie Beam Walwer; granddaughter, Lauren Miranda Walwer all of Colonial Heights. A memorial service will be held 12:30 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2013 in the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 1769 Sycamore Street, Petersburg, Virginia 23803 with the Reverend Paul T. Christian officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:00 noon at Church prior to service. Arrangements by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E.
