Rita Albertine Wilson, 84, of North Dinwiddie and formerly of Colonial Heights, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, December 22, 2014. Born in Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late George Pronovost and Lydia Brouillette and was also preceded in death by her husband; Raymond O. Wilson, Sr. Rita was a long time member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. She helped establish the Petersburg Trading Post 60 years ago along the side of her husband. Mrs. Wilson had a passion for cooking, recipes, and loved working in her garden. She is survived by her daughters, Judy Marie Wilson, of Sutherland, and Patricia C. Szafranski and husband, Kevin of Wilsons; sons, Raymond Wilson, Jr. of Richmond and Richard G. Wilson, Sr. and wife, Theresa of McKenney; six grandchildren, Janice Penny, Rita Fried, Ricky Wilson, Jr., Holden Lee Wilson, Lydia and Lauren Szafranski; five great-grandchildren, Patrick, Emma, Nora, Julia and Violet; her sister, Theresa Nardozzi of Waterbury, Connecticut; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday December 29, 2014 in Blandford Cemetery Petersburg, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 3-4:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
