Robert Ayers Sr.

Robert Lee Ayers, Sr. 74, of Matoaca passed away Saturday July 30, 2011 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Mr. Ayers was a retired pipe fitter with Local #10. He was a member of Matoaca Christian Fellowship. Mr. Ayers was preceded in death by his parents Thomas T. Ayers and Thelma Branch Ayers and one brother Jerry W. Ayers. Mr. Ayers is survived by his wife Mary Elizabeth Ayers, son Robert Lee Ayers, Jr., and wife Vicki M. of Chesterfield, grandson Brandon Lee Ayers of Chesterfield, two brothers Dennis P. Ayers, Etheridge N. Ayers, one sister Jean Koobs, an uncle Carroll Branch and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday August 3, 2011 at Matoaca Christian Fellowship 7700 River Road Matoaca, Virginia 23803, with Pastor Ryan Atchison officiating. Interment Dale Memorial Park Richmond, Virginia. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 2, 2011 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard 23834. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Matoaca Christian Fellowship.
