Robert Jesse Beasley, "MR. B," 88, of Colonial Heights, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 11, 2011. He was a native of Richmond, the son of the late Stanley and Rosa Beasley, and was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Beasley Jones. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Colonial Heights, AARP Chapter 1399, and the C.H. Senior Golf League. A graduate of Manchester High School, Mr. Beasley served 4 years in WWII, 14th Air Force, Flying Tigers in China, India Burma Theater. He was the founder of R.J. Beasley Construction Corporation in Petersburg, and served as President of the Home Builders Association Southside Virginia in 1981. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Farmer Beasley; three daughters, Gwen B. Sichol (Adam) of Fairfield, Beth B. Kennon (Michael) of Chester, and Joan B. Temple (William) of Chesterfield; six grandchildren, Ben Bruce (Wendy) Sarah Weaver (Ben), Ellen Meador (Josh), Carrie Mitchem (Lee), Danielle and Rachel Temple; great-grandchildren, Micah, Maddox, Mackain and Mercy Bruce, and Grace Meador. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2011 in Immanuel Baptist church, with the Reverend Fred Adkins officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, and Tuesday one hour prior to the service in the atrium at church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be sent to Immanuel Baptist Church Building Fund, 620 Lafayette Avenue, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 or the Alzheimer's Association, 4600 Cox Road, Suite 130, Glen Allen, Virginia 23060
