Robert Belvin Sr.

Robert G. Belvin, Sr., 84, of Chester passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at his home. Born February 10, 1933, he was the son of the late Thomas and Bessie Belvin, and was also preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Bettie Nell Belvin. Mr. Belvin was a member of Western Heights Baptist Church. He worked as a supervisor for Brown & Williamson, and worked with Lowe's for many years in Tool World, where he helped his customers locate anything within the store. He proudly served his country with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Robert loved taking care of his yard and all the wildlife he came across, and was involved in the MVRCC Club, which is a club for remote control airplane enthusiasts. He is survived by his loving wife, Kay Belvin; son, Robert "Bobby" G. Belvin, Jr., and wife, Kristie; grandchildren, Matthew A. Belvin and wife, Emily, Jessica Landis and husband, Josh, Brittany Everette and husband, Lee; great-grandchildren, Ella Belvin, Natalie Landis, Logan Everette, Brooks Everette, Cameron Everette, Oakley Everette; stepson, Tony Patterson and wife, Deanna; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Western Heights Baptist Church, 24416 Cox Road, Petersburg, VA 23803, with Pastor Jonathan Dundalow officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service on Wednesday from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at church.
