Robert Ellis

Robert Franklin Ellis, 72, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2011 at the Dunlop House. He was the son of the late Lawrence and Blanche Seymour Ellis, and the widower of Betty R. Ellis. He was preceded in death by a daughter Jerilyn Banning, and son-in-law, James Banning. Mr. Ellis was a retired computer programmer. He is survived by a daughter, Robin Mapes and husband, Patrick; five grandchildren, Ryan Banning, David Lee Mahanes III, Caitlin Mahanes, Jason Mapes, Brian Mapes and wife, Emily; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Lucas Mapes. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2011 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend David Prather officiating
