Robert K. Grandstaff, 82, of Prince George passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at his home. Born December 31, 1934, he was the son of the late Glendon O. and Anna E. Grandstaff, and was also preceded in death by his son, Robert Matthew Grandstaff; and brother, Waldo Grandstaff. He was a long-time member of Monumental Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. After over 21 years of dedicated service to his country, Mr. Grandstaff retired from the United States Army, having served two tours in Vietnam and earning two Bronze Stars. He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce A. Grandstaff; son, Christopher Scott Grandstaff and wife, Jennifer; daughters, Patricia G. Jones and husband, Joseph, Charlene L. Grandstaff, Jennifer Grandstaff; grandchildren, Crystal, Elizabeth, Tara, Krislyn, Dylan, Zachary, Logan, Noah, Jace; great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Korrine, Kaleb, Kyle, Gabriel; siblings, Lynn Grandstaff, Theodore Grandstaff, Glendon Grandstaff, Jr., William Grandstaff, Catherine Hilliard, Charlotte Gochenour, Wanda Ricker; and numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. November 18, 2017 at the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805, with Pastor Duane Guridy officiating. Entombment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, S. Prince George.
