Robert Merritt

Robert K. "Bob" Merritt Sr., 81, of Disputanta, passed away Tuesday July 8, 2014 at Southside Regional Medical Center. He was born May 6, 1933 to the late Robert K. and Evelyn Prime Merritt and was preceded in death by a great-grandson Richard Kin Merritt Jr., a brother David Merritt, two sisters Sybil Klinkel and Clista Heath. Mr. Merritt was a United States Army Veteran, he loved to fish garden and listen to Country Music. Mr. Merritt is survived his loving wife Virginia Emory Merritt, sons Robert Merritt and wife Helen, Richard Merritt and wife Ida, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one sister Mary Dickerson. A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday July 15, 2014 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend David Prather officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park Prince George, Virginia. The family will receive friends Monday July 14, 2014 from 7:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
