Robert Oldmixon

Robert James "Bob" Oldmixon, 66, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2009. He was the son of the late E. Robert and Mary Ann Masterangelo Oldmixon, and the widower of Irene M. Oldmixon. He was retired Lt. Colonel in the US Army having served during the Vietnam Conflict, and the recipient of numerous commendation medals to include the Bronze Star. He was the owner of the Awards and Frame Company, Colonial Heights and Fort Lee. Mr. Oldmixon was a Boy Scout Master while serving overseas; scouting was an important part of his life. He is survived by his children, Meredith Camp and husband, Mark of Chester, Scott Oldmixon and wife, Becky of Colonial Heights, Delaine Gordon and husband, Hampton of Dinwiddie, and Doug Oldmixon and wife, Janelle of Colonial Heights; seven grandchildren, Drew, Callie, Colleen, Destiny, Josh, Forest, and Lucas; one sister, Jane Luchsinger of New York; half brother and sisters, Eric Oldmixon of New York, Elisabeth Oldmixon of New Jersey, and Larisa Berson of Connecticut. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 11, 2009 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Interment 2:00 p.m. Monday in Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Road, Triangle, Virginia 22172. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
