Robert W. Potter, 81, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2008 at Chippenham Medical Center. He was the son of the late Harry P. and Clara Stull Potter. Mr. Potter retired as a Master Sergeant with the United States Army, and also the Virginia Linen Service. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie B. Potter, a daughter, Debra S. Walwer and husband, David of Colonial Heights; two sons, Robert W. Potter and wife, Michelle of Portland, Oregon, William C. Potter and wife, Sharon of Chester; three brothers, Don Potter of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, James Potter of Leechburg, Pennsylvania and Richard Potter of Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania; four sisters, June Dellinger of Falls Church, Virginia, Sallie Trefelner and Patricia Berta both of Leechburg, Pennsylvania and Nancy Kerner of Allison Park, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Alex and Eric McVay, Sam Spaulding and Lauren Walwer. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 5, 2008 in Grace Lutheran Church with the Reverend Richard J. Finck officiating. Interment Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
