Robert Powell

Robert Boisseau Powell, 75, of Petersburg passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at McGuire's Veterans Hospital. Robert was born in 1939 in Petersburg, Virginia to the late Claude Jefferson Powell, Sr. and Ellanor Boisseau. He was preceded in death by brother; Claude Jefferson Powell, Jr., and sisters Judith Powell Barnes, Margaret Powell Porter, and Jean Powell Witchurch. Robert was a U. S. Navy Veteran and the owner of Kenilworth Cleaners for 30 years. Robert also had been previously employed by Virginia Linen, and Merita Bread. He is survived by a son, Robert Jeffery Powell as well as many nieces and nephews, his loving cats, Mister, Gaygay, Tommy, Punkin, and a longtime friend and companion Jeanette Shope. Uncle Robert would like to thank his nieces, nephews and their wives, and husbands, for helping to take care of him, his house, yard, and his cats and also for all their visits and phone calls. The family would like to thank the many friends and other family members that assisted with his care as well as Crater Community Hospice.
