Robert Maynard Rule, 94, of Chester passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017 at his residence. He was born July 25, 1922 in Roanoke, Virginia to the late Irvin Maynard Rule and Esther Harkey Mills. Robert was a United States Navy veteran, having served during WWII, and later retired from Allied Signal after 34 years of service. He was a longtime member of St. Ann Catholic Church and American Legion Post 284. Mr. Rule is survived by his wife, Celia Mae Edwards Rule; daughter Deborah Rule Morlock; two sons, Father Steven Randall Rule, Gary Michael Rule and wife, Heather Johnson Rule, two granddaughters, Trinity Pope St. John and husband, Joshua Mikel St. John, Jenna Leigh Morlock; one grandson, Matthew James Rule; and one great-grandson Romeo Ruch St. John. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Ann Catholic Church, 1711 Jefferson Davis Highway, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Interment will be follow in Sunset Memorial Park Chester, Virginia. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 13, 2017 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Bon Secours Hospice 1133 Old Bon Air Rd Richmond, VA 23235.
