Robert Kehrer Wilcox, 82, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at his residence. Born in Gowanda, New York, he was the son of the late Alfred A. "Chick" and Eldewine K. Wilcox and was preceded in death by a sister, Nanette Wilcox Izzo. He was a United States Air Force veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Wilcox retired from C&P Telephone with 35 years of service, and was employed with Martin's Grocery with over 20 years of service. He was a Charter Member of the Lakeside Volunteer Rescue Squad, and a lifetime member of the Southside Virginia Volunteer Emergency Crew. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janette Griffin Wilcox; a son, Stephen K. Wilcox and wife, Brenda and their children, Seth and Brett; a daughter, Kimberly Wilcox Hall and her children, Troy, Madison, Morgan, and Griffin; numerous nieces and a nephew. A special thanks for the kind and loving care provided by Kim Bear and Terri Watts. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Bob McKinley officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, January 19, 2015 at the funeral home.
