Robert Wood Jr.

Robert "Buster" Wood, Jr., 61, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017. Born to the late Robert and Margaret Otey Wood, Robert was also preceded in death by his loving wife of over 30 years, Delores Poole Wood, and his brother, Mark Wood. Robert worked as an HVAC mechanic for nearly his entire life, starting off working for the family business. He is survived by his daughters, Christy Thompson and her husband, James, Lisa Wood, and Lindsey Johnson; his grandchildren, Hunter, Blake, Tyler and Dylan Thompson, Sean, Kayla and Layna Wood, and LillyAnn Johnson; his sisters, Belinda Crowder and Elizabeth Powers; a brother, Brian Wood; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel at E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, VA 23834, with the Reverend David Prather officiating. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Rd. S. Prince George, VA 23805. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
