Rodney Y. Humphries, 69, of Prince George, formerly of Colonial Heights, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2012. Born in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Wilbur Y. and Helen Clark Humphries, and was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Porter Humphries. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, and the Colonial Heights Moose Lodge #1783. He is survived by two sisters, Rebecca Humphries Rainbow and husband, Alan of Frystown, Pennsylvania, and Lori Humphries Martinez and husband, Eduardo of Prince George; a sister-in-law, Barbara Allen Humphries of Matoaca; nieces and nephews, Barbara Pell, Sherry Simms, Edward Humphries Jr., JoAnn Cecil, Christine Rainbow, Jennifer Balsbough, Heather Gomez, Maria Martinez, and Michelle Wells; several great-nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 9, 2012 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with Pastor Dwayne Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg.
