Romi Chitwood Jr.

Romi Lee Chitwood Jr., 89, of Chesterfield, Virginia passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2014. He was the son of the late Romi Lee Chitwood Sr. and Ethel White Chitwood. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sonia Lawson Chitwood and sisters, Sylbia Dickman, Nora McLean and Mattie McQuay. He was a member of Ettrick United Methodist Church and was formerly affiliated with Mary Helen United Methodist Church in Coalgood, Kentucky. He was a longtime member of the Chester Masonic Lodge and the Colonial Heights Senior Golf Association. "Pop" was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle to his family. He was a loyal and trustworthy friend. He touched all those around him with humor and love. He was a steadfast rock for all he knew. He was loved and will be missed. He is survived by his sons, James Wesley Chitwood (Nancy) and Charles Richard Chitwood (Sheila); grandchildren, Tony Watkins (Monique), Todd Watkins, Travis Chitwood (fiancée, Laura), Callie Watkins (James), Aaron Chitwood, and Christin Chitwood; great-grandchildren, Virginia Belle Watkins and John Anthony Watkins Jr.; sisters, Ida Wheelhouse, Jimmie Wrightstone, and Sue Bisoti, thirteen nieces and ten nephews. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2015 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Bob Lamb officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. A Masonic Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. with visitation to follow until 8:30 p.m. Thursday, January 1, 2015 at the funeral home. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
