Ronald Barfield Sr.

Ronald Benton "Billy" Barfield Sr.,85, of Petersburg, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017. Born in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Willie and Margaret Brame Barfield. He was the widower of Evelyn Ray Harrison Barfield and was preceded in death by a brother, Dan Barfield. Mr. Barfield was the proprietor of Prince George Plumbing & Cabinet Division. He is survived by his daughters; Gayle Barfield Pruett and husband, Phillip of Prince George and Sheila Ray Peckinpaugh and husband, Steve Bowman of Chatham; and a son, Ronald B. Barfield Jr. and partner, Tracy of Petersburg; eleven grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a special devoted caregiver, Chanell Copeland. A funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2017 in the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, Virginia. The family will receive friends this evening Thursday, May 25 2017 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
