Ronald Brown

Ronald LaMont Brown, born January 3, 1943 in Hopewell, Virginia to Howard E. and Lillian L. Brown, died on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at his home. Ron, affectionately known as "Pa Brown" and "Grandpop", was an avid antique car enthusiast and collector, who delighted in and enjoyed providing for his family. He graduated from West End Christian School in 1961, and Danville Technical Institute in 1965. Ron retired from Fort Lee as Chief Energy Management in 1999, then went on to attain his Realtor and Broker's licenses, owning and managing numerous rental properties. Ron is survived by his wife of 55 years, Irene W. Brown; son, Michael Brown and wife, Debbie of Kingstree, South Carolina; daughters, Terri Slater and husband, Joe of Harrisonburg, Virginia, Wendy Mucci and husband, Chris of Raleigh, North Carolina; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one brother, Wayne E. Brown and wife, Eleanor of Prince George, Virginia; and one sister, Patricia Jones of Prince George. A memorial service will be held at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2017 in the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805. Burial of cremains will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, S. Prince George, Virginia. The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 11:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. at the funeral home.
