Ronald Deforrest

Ronald Cohick DeForrest, 82, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2018. Born on August 4, 1935 in Three Springs, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Robert Fiann and Mary Elizabeth Cohick DeForrest. Mr. DeForrest was a member of the American Legion Post #284, Cockade Rifles & N-S Skirmish Association, Cromwell Lodge #572 (PA), for over 50 years, and Chester Lodge #94, A.F. & A.M. He is survived by his wife, Margaret "Peg;" two daughters, Kim Lavinka and husband, Tom and Chris Foster and husband, Kerry; three grandsons, Aaron Lavinka and wife, Miranda, Nathan Lavinka, and Joshua Foster; one granddaughter, Kaci Foster; a great-grandson on the way; a brother, Ned L. DeForrest and wife, JoAnn; two nephews, Bob DeForrest and Lee DeForrest and wife, Donna; one great-niece, Jaina; one great-nephew, Jad. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 6, 2018 in the Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church, 211 Lynchburg Avenue, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with the Reverend M. Kerry Foster officiating. A Masonic Service will be held at 3:45 p.m. Sunday, August 5, 2018 with visitation to follow until 6:00 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
