Ronald Gates

Ronald Thomas Gates, 91, joined his wife in Heaven on Sunday, October 17, 2021. Ronnie was the son of the late Ralph and Addie Gates of Oil City, Pennsylvania.  His wife of 58 years, Dallas B. Gates, Yvonne (Bonnie) Rager, beloved daughter and Christopher R. Gates, eldest grandson predeceased him. He leaves to cherish his memory his son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Patty Gates; daughter and son-in-law, Allison and Bert Krupp; grandchildren, Nicole Rager Butt (Aaron), Erica-Leigh Rager Rainey (J.P.), Kyle Thomas Krupp (Victoria), Dylan James Krupp and Mackenzie David Krupp. This great man also had eight great-grandchildren, Alyssa Rackley, Elijah Butt, Lydia Butt, Ella Rainey, Jude Butt, Indiana Rainey, Nora Rainey and Rey Rainey. Ronnie proudly served four years in the U.S. Navy right out of high school. It was during his last year in the Navy when he went home with a friend from Tennessee that he met the love of his life. He was a dedicated employee of Reynolds Metals Extrusion Plant for over 35 years. He took pride in providing for his family who was his life. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 7, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
