Ronald Morrison

Ronald "Ron" Morrison 80, of Colonial Heights, passed away Thursday April 16, 2015. He was born May 25, 1934 in West Virginia to the late Okey Herbert and Bessie Scott Morrison. Ron retired after 24 years of service with the United States Navy and 20 years of service with International Paper Company in Waverly, Virginia. He was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church in Chesterfield County. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 52 ½ years, Dorotha Morrison; two sons, Allen Morrison (Sandra), Mark Morrison Sr; daughter, Angela Tucker (Trent); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister Fay Nester of Ohio, and one sweet Sugar Lump. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday April 21, 2015 at Oaklawn Baptist Church, 7925 Hickory Road, South Chesterfield, Virginia 23803, with the Reverend Wayne Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Chester, Virginia. The family will receive friends on Monday April 20, 2015 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of Virginia, 9221 Forest Hill Avenue Richmond, Virginia 23235 or to the Oaklawn Baptist Church Roof Fund.
