Ronald F. Poe, 81, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Southside Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late Robert E. and Gladys Woolard Poe, and was preceded in death by a son, Robert Eugene Poe. Mr. Poe was a member of the Second Chance Baptist Church, and a former member of the Hopewell Moose. He was a retired Pipe Fitter with Hercules, and a 14 year veteran with the Army National Guard. Mr. Poe is survived by his wife, Mary H. Poe; his sons, Ronald Francis Poe Jr. of Florida, Michael C. Poe and wife, Evon of Dinwiddie, and David Allen Poe of Colonial Heights; a step-son, Jeff Hamilton and wife, Sheri of Colonial Heights; nine grandchildren, Allen, Heather, Bridgette, Nicholas, Chris, Melissa, , Katy, Meegan, and Ronnie; a step-grandson, Kennon Ball; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Edgar Allen Poe and wife, Sue of Colonial Heights. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2015 at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, S. Prince George, Virginia 23805 with the Reverend David Prather officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2015 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
