Ronald Simms

Ronald "Ronnie" Simms, 74, of Chesterfield passed away on Monday, October 9, 2017 at Johnston-Willis Hospital. Born May 3, 1943, he was the son of the late Edward and Mary Simms and was also preceded in death by his sisters, Jean Butler and Nancy Barton. Ronnie was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Matoaca. After 32 years of faithful service, he retired from Reynolds Metals as a furnace operator. He loved working in his garden and enjoyed talking with his buddies on his CB Radio. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Linda Simms; sons, Richard Lawrence Simms (Lynn Bird) and Michael Ralph Simms (Deanna Smith); grandchildren, Kali Por and Amber Whiteside (Lukas) and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
