Roper Elder Jr.

Roper Gordon Elder Jr., 70, of Disputanta, passed away on Friday February 20, 2015 at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg. He was the son of the late Roper and Clara Alderson Elder. Mr. Elder is survived by his loving wife Rebecca Elder; sons Richard G. Elder and wife Lucy, William R. Elder; daughters, Melissa Langley and husband Todd, Ginger Roberts and husband Michael; grandchildren, Conner, Tyler, Mason, Colton, Taryn, Kaitlyn, Mackenzie and Rebecca; sisters Roberta Jones, and Carol Elder. Roper loved his family, and was a friend to everyone. The family will receive friends Monday evening February 23, 2015 from 7-8:30 p. m. in the Petersburg Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home and Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association 530 E. Main Street, Suite 200 Richmond
