Rosa May Boswell Nomikos died at St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond, Virginia on Wednesday, December 22, 2010, following a courageous battle to overcome disabilities suffered as a result of a stroke in 2008. The daughter of Rosa Ann Webb and William Iverson Boswell Jr., she was born on July 19, 1934 in Colonial Heights, Virginia. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Anne Colgate Boswell Kay and brother, William Iverson Boswell III. Mrs. Nomikos attended Mary Baldwin College and graduated from Richmond Professional Institute, now Virginia Commonwealth University. After her graduation, she taught school for several years in Texas and in Richmond. Following her marriage in 1963, she and her husband established May Travel. During her many years in the business world, she was highly respected for her contributions to the travel industry while, at the same time, successfully balancing her responsibilities with those of family life. She was a devoted wife and mother. As a child of God, she was a good and faithful servant whose life was dedicated to guiding her family, friends, and business associates toward a better understanding of God's blessings upon us all. She was the wife of Constantine George Nomikos, who survives her. Also surviving are her son, George Christopher Nomikos M.D. of Alexandria; her brother, Marvin Corter Boswell and his wife, Betsy of Keswick, Virginia and an extended and beloved family of nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 24, 2010 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with Father Nicholas Bacalis officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg.
