Roy Dean Comer, 87, of Prince George VA passed away at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, June 29, 2022. Born on December 21, 1934, in Marion North Carolina, he was the son of the late Newman Comer and Pansy Crouch. Proceeded in death by brothers, Bob Comer, Jim Comer and his loving wife Bobby Jean Comer. He is survived by his daughter, Pansy Comer Dooley (David), his son, James Christopher Comer (Roxane) and his grandchildren, Lash Dean Dooley, Brandi Ann Dooley (Wes) and Joshua Alexander Comer. Roy retired from C&P Telephone company after many years of service. He loved camping, traveling, gospel music, singing and through his entire life he never met a stranger that he wouldn’t help. His heart and home was always open. Roy loved working on cars and watching Nascar racing. His involvement in the church spanned from singing in the choir, leading the morning Sunday School service, a youth leader and one of the founding members of the Gary’s Gospel Story Tellers. He was a loyal member of Rosewood Presbyterian Church. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at 6 P.M. at the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, VA 23805. The reception will follow at Gary’s UMC, 13501 Sunnybrook Road, South Prince George, VA 23805.
