Ruby Sirry Belcher, of Colonial Heights, died Saturday, December 16, 2006 at Chippenham Medical Center, Richmond after a period of declining health. Mrs. Belcher was the daughter of the late Eugene Samuel Sirry and Susie Claiborne Avery Sirry and the widow of Benjamin Wright Belcher, Jr. She was retired from Civil Service accounting at Fort Lee and a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church.
Mrs. Belcher is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Bill Smith and Nancy and Bryan Small, all of Colonial Heights; a granddaughter, Emily S. Smith of Richmond; a grandson, Adam C. Smith of Charleston, SC; and three sisters, Louise S. Green and Geraldine S. Traylor both of Chesterfield and Elizabeth S. Bishop of Dinwiddie. The family would like to extend special thanks to Janet Schrum, Iris Myles and others for their loving care during the past few months.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Tuesday, December 19, 2006,. in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, with the Rev. Dr. Randall Hahn and Rev. Michael Osborne officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George County. The family will receive friends from Monday 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
