Ruby Hart

Ruby Abernathy Hart, 93, of Prince George, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Sunflower Gardens Memory Center, Hopewell. Born in Dinwiddie, she was the daughter of the late Ira L. and Nora Kennedy Abernathy, and was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie W. Hart; and two brothers, Preston and Grover Abernathy. Mrs. Hart was a member of Lakemont Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Eugene M. Hart of Hopewell; a daughter, Martha H. Stone (John) of Blackstone; three grandchildren, Tina Stone Maitland, Deanna Hart, and Kelly Hart; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 22, 2018 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with Pastor Ben Dyer officiating. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
