Russell Fitzgerald

Russell E. Fitzgerald, 91, of Petersburg, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Southside Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late Emmett C. and Margaret Wright Fitzgerald, and the widower of Pearl Henley Fitzgerald. Mr. Fitzgerald was a member of Monumental Baptist Church. He is survived by a daughter, Patricia A. Hill of Petersburg; three granddaughters, Debra Kaiktsian, Donna Paxton and husband, Ryland, and Lori Hill Lincoln; five great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Frances Chison; a brother, Carl Fitzgerald; two special friends, Louise Durance and Mary Ann Lee. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2011 in the Mausoleum Chapel of Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Road, NW, Roanoke, Virginia 24012. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Petersburg Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road.
