Russell King

Russell M. King, 83, of Matoaca, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at McGuire VA Medical Center. Born in Wake County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late George H. and Veola Stone King, and was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Michael King and a brother, Edward King. Mr. King was a Retired Master Sergeant with the United States Army, having served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Ann King; a son, Russell Marcus King of Matoaca; three daughters, Rhonda K. Minson and husband, Kenneth, Donna K. Mitchell and husband, Mitch, and Linda K. Poulston and husband, Petie all of Chesterfield; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, George Harold King and wife, Shirleen of Jacksonville, North Carolina; and a sister, Mirtie Mozelle Garber of Hollywood, Florida. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2011 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
