Ruth Eason

October 4, 1941 — May 14, 2018

"BINGO!" Ruth's favorite words to yell out as she covered her board. Everyone who had the privilege of knowing Ruth Ann Eason, knew what an amazing spirit she had right up to her last game. Her bright blue eyes, quick wit and big smile would greet everyone who walked in the door. She loved to tap tap tap the pieces of puzzles in with her sisters, as they completed 1,000-piece challenges in a day. Ruth enjoyed lunch outings with her siblings dubbed "Miss Emily's Children." She loved cooking, reading and whooping any poor soul that had the nerve to challenge her in a hand of cards. The Appomattox River flowed through her veins with a fishing pole in one hand and a gardening glove on the other. You could find her reeling the fish in while watching the hummingbirds zoom around her yard. She had many loves, but she loved nothing more than her family and friends. Ruth Ann Eason, born on October 4, 1941 of Virginia to Robert Bailey Wilson and Emily Dee Wilkerson Wilson passed peacefully in her sleep. She is now reunited with her husband and best friend William "Chris" Eason, children Shelly Love, JD Broughton and sister, Rachel Wilson. Those left behind with loving memories of this incredible woman are her four children: Debbie Sanderson, Steve Sanderson, Dianna "Dee" Eason (Roger) and Robert Broughton (Shannon). She was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Ruth also leaves behind sisters Virgie Heermance, Mary Mills, Christine Phillips and brother Sam Wilson (Virginia). She also left loving memories and great appreciation for her Lucy Corr family and friends with whom she shared many hours of laughter and stories. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. We will celebrate Ruth's life in her favorite way, a gathering with food, fellowship, stories, laughter, and memories of this beautiful soul. We will celebrate the reuniting of two loves and show thanks for the time we were blessed to share with them. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that you make a donation to the Richmond SPCA. Ruth had a true love of animals and found comfort in the peace they brought her and their unconditional love. 2519 Hermitage Road, Richmond, VA 23220 or www.richmondspca.org.
