Ruth Life Lynch departed this life on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Lucy Corr Health Care Center. She was born May 13, 1911 in Harrison County, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Martha R. and Samuel D. Life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence K. Lynch. Mrs. Lynch was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was active in the music program and Senior Saints. For many years, she was involved in a prison ministry, in connection with her church, and the Source of Light Mission. She helped many chaplains and lay persons with Bible lessons. She is survived by one daughter, Deborah L. Gilbert and son-in-law, Dr. Lowell H. Gilbert; two granddaughters, Amy G. Selfe and husband, Steve, and Kimberley G. Boyd and husband, Tracy; four great-grandchildren, Kayla and Lauren Boyd, and Peyton and Noah Selfe; sisters, Alice L. Bell, and Burnice M. Life; nieces Ula Mae Life and husband, Lee, and Mary Ann Abey and husband, Bill; other nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2009 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Dr. Ray Haskett officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester.
