Ruth Poe

Ruth W. Poe, 85, of Colonial Heights, passed away December 24, 2019. She was born on February 17, 1934 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Swinton and Virginia Wise. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and retired from Coburn Optical. She was preceded in death by her sons, Robert Eugene Poe and Ronald Francis Poe Jr. She is survived by her sons, Mickey C. Poe (Evon) of North Dinwiddie and David Allen Poe of Colonial Heights; grandchildren, Heather Savasta, Bridget Vaccaro, Meeghan Evans, Nicholas Poe, Ron Lovett, Melissa Poe, Christopher Poe, Allen Poe, and Katy Poe; great-grandchildren, Georgia, Wilington, Connor, Keely, Nolen, Myles, and Berklee; sister, Loretta Wise Hartle; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 17111 Jefferson Davis Highway, South Chesterfield, Virginia 23834 with Father Danny Cogut officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834, with rosary service at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Ann Catholic Church.
