Ruth Louise Wall of Chester, Virginia lost her battle with breast cancer on Monday, June 10, 2013. Born on July 6, 1928 in Chesterfield, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Carroll and Marion Long Carroll, and the widow of Charles L. "Buck" Wall Sr. She was preceded in death by a sister, Alma Crowder. Mrs. Wall was a factory worker at Titmus Optical in Petersburg. She was active for many years with a group of friends that met every other week to polka dance at the Carson Ruritan Club in Carson, Virginia, until they disbanded in July of 2012. She loved flower gardening and taking care of her yard. She is survived by her son, Charles L. "Frog" Wall Jr. and wife, Janet; a grandson, Shawn E. Wall; a granddaughter, Lauren Wall Cook and husband, Brian; a sister, Marion Blaha; many nieces, nephews and cousins. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2013 in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester with the Reverend Robert Lane officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
