Samuel P. Skalsky 86, previously of Colonial Heights and recently of Kilmarnock passed away Saturday June 16, 2012 at Rappahannock General Hospital. He was the son of the late Frank Joseph and Susie Sluka Skalsky and the widower of Constance Barker Skalsky. Mr. Skalsky was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church and St. Andrews Methodist Church in Kilmarnock. He retired as district sales manager with Singer Consumer Products Division. Although retired, Sam remained tenacious, active and an independent character as long as his mind and body permitted. Once they met him, no one forgot the previous Mr. Skalsky who later became just "Sam". He is survived by his daughter Cheryl S. Creason and husband Richard of Heathsville, Virginia, two grandsons, Richard Creason II., and Michael Creason and their wives of Fairfax and five great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his brother, Paul and sister, Ruth. A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday June 20, 2012 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Mike Osborne officiating. Interment Southlawn Memorial Park Prince George, Virginia. The family will receive friends Tuesday June 19, 2012 from 7:00-to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
