Sarah P. Curtis, 94, of Summerville, South Carolina, and formerly of Colonial Heights, Virginia, began her new life in the arms of Jesus on November 7, 2016. A member of Seacoast Christian Community Church, she will be remembered as a caring friend, compassionate to all and one who blessed many. Truly she had the heart of a servant. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she is survived by two sons: Wilton Hoy Staples, Jr (Shannon) of Summerville, SC and Paul Thomas Staples (Robyn) of Madisonville, Kentucky and a step-son, Arthur Lee Curtis. Jr. (Linda) of Lizella, Georgia. A sister, Peggy Kelly (Robert) lives in Jacksonville, Florida, and a sister-in-law Shirley Parrish (Jack-deceased) of Chester, Virginia. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wilton Hoy Staples, on August 18, 1989, her second husband, Arthur Lee Curtis on January 30, 2008, a daughter, Jeanne Elizabeth Pritchett (Jerrell) on March 22, 2007; and daughter, Donna Lee Brown (Kent) on October 7, 2015, sister Betty and brother Jack. A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2016 in Blandford Cemetery in Petersburg, Virginia, everyone is welcome to attend. The family wishes to offer a special thank you for the wonderful care and concern offered by the staff at The Village at Summerville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship of South Carolina, Coastal Chapter or to the employee appreciation fund at The Village.
