Sarah Vaughan

Sarah (Susie) Aldridge Vaughan, 82 years old, of Colonial Heights passed away on Monday, January 14, 2013. She was born April 17, 1930 to the late Monroe M. and Siberia I. Lacks Aldridge, and was married to the late James Nester Vaughan for 57 years. She retired in 1992 from Allied Chemical in Chester. Sarah had a green thumb and loved to work out in her flower garden. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela V. Vaughan of Colonial Heights; a sister, Viola Hirn of Colonial Heights; numerous nieces and nephews, along with several devoted friends. A procession will leave the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. for a Graveside service at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2013 in Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, Prince George, Virginia 23805. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
