Sharon Kay Carter, 68, of Prince George passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023. Born December 12, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Leo David and Barbara Cochran Lipchak.
Sharon dedicated 30 years of her life in service to the government, retiring from the Department of Defense as an administrative assistant. Her commitment and hard work leaves a lasting impact on those she worked with.
Beyond her professional achievements, Sharon was a pillar of strength and love within her family. Her joy in life was found in simple pleasures, from baking delicious cakes to spending quality time quilting and creating beautiful pieces of art. She was a devoted grandmother who never missed a chance to cheer on her grandchildren at their baseball games.
Known as the "Chaos Coordinator," Sharon had a remarkable talent for organizing and coordinating events both for her family and friends. Her ability to bring people together and create harmonious gatherings was truly exceptional. Whether it was a family reunion or special events (weddings were her favorite), Sharon approached every task with enthusiasm and a warm heart.
In her early years, Sharon co-owned a beauty salon called "The Way Back," where she showcased her creativity and passion for making people feel their best.
One of Sharon's greatest joys was spending time at the beach, where the sound of the waves and the warmth of the sun brought her peace and serenity. Her love for the ocean was a reflection of her appreciation for the beauty and tranquility found in nature.
She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Randall Keith Carter; two daughters, Heather Dawn Adkins, April Joy Kegley and husband, Wayne; three grandsons, Dylan Kegley, Bryce Kegley, Benjamin Adkins; two sisters, Barbara Skeens and husband, Glenn, Anne Wilkerson and husband, Glenn; brother, David Lipchak and wife, Margaret; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
