Sharon Mccormick

Sharon Faye McCormick, 59, of Sutherland passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022. Born December 24, 1962, she was the daughter of Mary Lewis McCormick and the late Bobby Hilton McCormick.

Sharon retired from Food Lion Distribution Center after 20 years of dedicated service. Her most recent job was what she called Nana’s Taxi Service, where she drove her grandchildren and all their friends wherever they needed to go. She was an avid yardsaler but mostly loved spending time with her beloved animals and grandchildren, doing whatever they wanted to do. She also enjoyed spending time with her toes in the sand at the beach.

She is survived by her two sons, Robert Dean Cox (Melissa) and Timothy Allen Cox (Amy); three cherished grandchildren, Thane Andrew Cox, Bently Lee Cox and Sandy-Nicole Marie Cox; mother, Mary Lewis McCormick; brother, Terry Hilton McCormick (Carolyn); special aunt, Irene Grant (Russell); first cousin and best friend, Linda Lewis and other extended family members.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, VA 23805. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday June 13, 2022 at the funeral home.
