Sharon Russell

Sharon Ivey Russell, 64, of N. Dinwiddie passed away Friday, December 3, 2021. She was born in Petersburg on June 27, 1957 and was preceded in death by her father, Arlin Ivey Jr. Mrs. Russell was a longtime member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and also attended Living Stone Baptist Church. She served many years as a nurse for Dr. Ciurash at The Hope Center. She was a talented musician, playing many string instruments and was passionate about natural medicine and herb gardening. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, John T. Russell Jr.; sons, John T. Russell III (Josie), Adam J. Russell (Jennifer) and Mark A. Russell; grandchildren, Eloise and Isobel Russell, Laci and Evan Russell and Anastasia and Emma Russell; mother, Alice Faye Crumpler; brother, James A. Ivey (Stephanie) and nieces and nephews, James A. Ivey (Tiffany) and their children Payton and Colton, Madlina L. Ivey, Madison L. Ivey and Makayla L. Ivey. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Interment will follow at Newville United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive guests from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at the funeral home.
