Shelby Mccarter

Shelby Jean Harrison McCarter, 72, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at Hopewell Health Care Center. She was the daughter of the late John E. and Virginia Pope Harrison, and was preceded in death by a brother, John E. Harrison Jr. and a granddaughter, Kelli Vaden. Mrs. McCarter is survived by two sons, Chuck H. McCarter and wife, Meg of Dinwiddie, and L. Keith McCarter and wife, Christina of Middleburg, Florida; a daughter, Lethia McCarter Vaden of Colonial Heights; nine grandchildren, Shane McCarter, Shawn McCarter, Nisa McCarter, Nicole McCarter, Alex McCarter, Nicholas McCarter, Kristi Vaden, Kandi Vaden, and David Vaden; one great-grandson, Cody McCarter. A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2009 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Fred Adkins officiating. Interment Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George.
