Sherman Hanson

Chief Master Sargent Sherman Lee Hanson United States Air Force Retired, 75, passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2012. He was the son of the late Slater and Winona Kelly Hanson of Lewisburg, West Virginia, and was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Hanson. Mr. Hanson retired from the U.S. Air Force with over 33 years of service. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Patricia Ida Hanson; three daughters, Brenda Richards, Mary Crotzer, and Peggy Williams; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters, Carol Bostic, Sue James; a brother, Teddy Hanson; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 3-4:00 p.m. on Monday, November 12, 2012 with a prayer service to begin at 4: 00 p.m. in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home & Crematory 2033 Boulevard with Father Lou Ruoff officiating. Burial will take place in Rosewood Cemetery in Lewisburg, West Virginia. In lieu of flowers Memorial Donations may be made to St. Ann Catholic Church Food Pantry, 17111 Jefferson Davis Highway Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
