Mrs. Shirley Davis Beasley, 65, of Chapin, South Carolina passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Lexington Medical Center, West Columbia, South Carolina. Shirley was born in Dinwiddie, Virginia and moved with her family to Macon, Georgia when her husband, John was transferred with Brown & Williamson Tobacco Co. She volunteered at Red Cross for 20 years as a Disaster Services Human Resources (DSHR) Relief Worker. She was recognized for her tireless efforts at the 9/11 disaster in New York and Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana and many more. She was preceded in death by her parents, Burlin Davis of Pax, West Virginia and Vernie Davis of Petersburg, Virginia and three brothers, Monford Davis, Joney Davis and Clyde Davis all of Petersburg, Virginia. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, John Beasley; two sons, Christopher Beasley (Shellie) of Columbia, South Carolina and Daniel Beasley of Juliette, Georgia; three precious grandchildren, Katherine, Alexander and Waylon. She is also survived by her brother, Leonard Davis (Anna Mae) of Pax, West Virginia; and two sisters, Maebell Davis Phillingane (Lee) and Maud Davis Edmonds all of Prince George, Virginia. Shirley was dearly loved by all of her in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. Special thanks to all the doctors, nurses, and health care professionals that were there in her final days. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the Petersburg Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road. Burial will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2015 at the funeral home.
