Shirley Daulton

Shirley A. Daulton, 70, of Church Road, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2013 surrounded by family at her residence. Born in Mecklenburg County, she was the daughter of the late Richard F. and Jessie Bell Wilson Simmons. Mrs. Daulton was a member of Western Heights Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Daulton Sr.; a son, Charles E. "Bodie" Daulton Jr. and wife, Ellen of Dinwiddie; daughters, Kimberly D. Bostic and husband, Donnie of Dinwiddie, and Judy D. Schmidt and husband, Steve of Sutherland; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a brother, Billy Simmons of Hopewell; and four sisters, Virginia Vaughan of Matoaca, Lucille Harris of Macon, Georgia, Betty Jones of Dinwiddie, and Marquitta Christopher of Colonial Heights. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday July 10, 2013 at Western Heights Baptist Church, 24416 Cox Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23803 with the Reverend Jonathan Dundalow officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Petersburg Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bon Secours Hospice at St. Mary's Hospital Richmond, Virginia .
